Reviews

After searching almost a year for a massage therapist on the Big Island who was professional, knowledgable, and reliable I came across Emily at Body Compass Massage. Emily has an acute understanding of the body, she is both parts academic, in terms of her skillset with various massage techniques and how to apply them, as well as intuitive in the way she reads her way through reactions and or trigger points in your body and seamlessly transitions on the spot during the massage to your needs of the moment. Emily is professional, thorough, and we are lucky to have her here on the Big Island for our massage therapy needs. I for one am glad to be a regular customer of her practice.

Emily is an excellent massage therapist. She has taken the time to ask questions about my body’s specific needs and tailors my sessions to address those areas. She has remarkably strong hands and she incorporates heated stones and cups to help open up my muscles to receive maximum effectiveness. Emily has helped my body recover and regain mobility. I would happily refer her to anyone asking for body work. Emily is also very professional and communicates clearly, she is a pleasure to work with and have as a therapist.

The best massage I have ever received. I’ve done a lot of massages and I appreciate massages that heal long-term, rather than just feel good in the moment. I do boxing and CrossFit and work at a computer all day so I had a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck and right wrist.
Emily was very communicative and her technique is just amazing! It’s intentional, it works, and she is so knowledgeable about how the body releases tension and stress. I love that Emily is very strong! I like deep tissue and trigger point work and she was wonderful in constantly checking in on pressure level and what I should be feeling. She guided me through how to breathe, what to expect, and I feel like I’ve learned more about my body. When I also mentioned that I clench my jaw when I sleep, she did a quick massage of my neck, cheek, and face in a way I’ve never experienced. And it was magical. It was immediate relief. She also gave me tips on how to help relieve stress in my jaw on my own. If I could do a massage with Emily every single week, I would! I also really appreciate her sense of respect and intentionality for the session. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed both in body and mind. Mahalo!
